Does anyone have any SCM equipment that has needed parts or service in August? I'm looking for a feedback as we are looking at an SCM wide belt three headed sander. It's Italian which concerns me. We have an Italian miter machine for doors and it seems like it breaks down during the August production shut down in Italy. Getting parts is always a problem.
Curious if getting parts from SCM is a problem in August. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Getting parts from SCM is a problem in August, and any other month. Everything costs 3x what it should, shipping is slow and expensive, and they have a minimum purchase requirement. If you only need a $15 propreitory belt, you still have to buy $75 worth of overpriced parts. That said, their machines are generally solid and well built. The 3 SCM machines I have rarely needed anything beyond wear items like belts. I always look for 3rd party suppliers for basic things, but sometimes you have no choice but to buy from them.

I have a 20 yo SCM wide belt sander, twin belt. touch wood it is still running smooth and hasnt broke down, before that I had a 35 yo SCM sander, it broke down one time, the tech were called, he warned the possibility of not being able to get the parts as its 35 yo. but no, SCM still have part for it even after 35 years...

Would be happy to buy another sander from SCM.

I know its way past August but I figured I'd chime in anyway. I run a SCM Superset 23 daily. I've only been down once over the past five years. Solid piece of Equipment as far as I'm concerned. The last time I ordered a part it took a couple of days to get in. Considering it almost never breaks down, I couldn't complain.

yep it is a real problem I received my FS52 jointer planer combo on . 8-8-22 The planer table does not go up. got on te phone with tech support and he said it was the board. What he sent me was the wrong part, I e-mailed him back and the tech was no longer with the company. Had to start all over and every time you call they act as if you never called before. It took 2 month to get the right board and the right board did not fix the problem. more e-mails and phone calls. Very frustrating for sure.
