This piece was made of Pacifica Madrona , Madrone is primarily used for firewood .The clients fell in Love with this Madrone a friend of theirs had that was KD and in a stable warehouse for about 5 years .
The wood machines much like Hard Maple and has a Cherry look to it .
The drawers hold CDs secret compartments accessed by removing the top drawers in each corner compartment at the clients request.
The piece measures about 41" X 41" and comes out about 12" before the clipped face .it is about 32" tall.

I've never used Madrone. How does the color change with time? I like the variations in the top.
It will not Oxidize like Cherry to my knowledge , but I'll let you know .
It was also my first time using Madrone , it was like ripping through a mine field with all the stress that resides in the planks it has explosive force .
Perhaps a library position would feel safer , because that wood scared the heck out of me .
