False Teeth Cabinets

Listing #3831 Listed on: 04/17/2012 Name: steve

Couple weeks work building these for a client who found me online. Drawer fronts of chestnut and the carcass of an unidentifiable walnut coloured timber that have had for years sold to me second-hand. Have done an oil and wax finish still in process. Half a days work turning the 72 maple knobs.

Looks good - clever use of alternating woods. My concern is that LP's are very heavy - not sure those drawers and shelf will handle the weight. I'd guess 50 plus lbs. per drawer if full.

I can see you poured your heart into this. Nice contrast on the face - interesting piece. I was thinking about the weight also. Thanks for showing us.

Very nice work! Did you design these yourself? Only half a day to turn 72 all matching knobs? That is amazing! Did you have a duplicator?

Got the knobs downs to two and half minutes each. A lot of practice during the colonial era - meaning the 80's doing a lot of traditional furniture. The maple turns well and there is minimal sanding. Cheers.
