Quartersawing Hardwoods -- Logs Under 20" Dia.
|Step 1. Slab lightly.|
|Step 2. Split log in half.|
|Step 3. Saw lumber until the center is reached.|
|Step 4. Saw lumber from the opposite side.|
|Step 5. Saw remaining piece.|
Quartersawing 20" and Larger Logs
|Step 1. Slab heavy on one face.|
|Step 2. Saw wide quartersawn lumber.|
|Step 3. Saw narrow quartersawn lumber (width determined by slab size).|
|Step 4. Saw triangle pieces.|
