Can anyone offer some advice on what I could use to tint clear epoxy white.
Thanks in advance.

How about a white pigment like an artists oil color or a White UTC.

Buy white casting resin. Epoxy is usually amber colored and making bright white will be tough.

The polyester resin in gelcoat is green.
You will need to add alot of pigment to achieve a good white with epoxy.
Evercoat sells pigments for coloring resins.

Thanks all for the advice, I will try these and see what works best for this application.
The epoxy that I am using now dries to almost water clear and I don't need to be solid white , just more whitish and opaque than what I have now, so this should be doable.

I wouldn't advise any liquid coloring agent to epoxy, serious risk of ruining the chemical mixture & preventing proper curing. Would you pour watercolors in your varnish? Dry (inert) pigment powders are what we use.

We use liquid Mixol tints all the time in epoxy, hasn't stopped it from curing yet. For small amounts of epoxy a couple drops will change the epoxy color and make it more opaque. I wouldn't suggest using a lot of color but a couple drops hasn't caused us any issues.

I just had this experience. Rich's approach is the one I used and it worked out fine. Try Smooth-On's Smooth Cast 300; mix some finely ground limestone into either of the two components before combining. Available at a good art supply store. Sets up fast.

Mixol usually but I have even used black spray paint in a pinch
