I am interested to know who has used one of these automated shaper tools, they look amazing in the videos I have watched.

They look like a toy to me. $2500 could be applied to the cost of something much more valuable and productive.
Would be handy for some things that could only be done on-site I bet though.

I got mine on December 30. It will be a toy for me. I'm a retired professional woodworker with a shop full of tools. I was looking for a different style of work as I enjoy slinging plywood less and less. I really like the Workstation they sell with it. Great for small work and joinery. I think it would be great in a furniture shop where lots of patterns are made for one off pieces, but it is absolutely not a replacement for a gantry CNC router. I really do appreciate some of the onboard software. Especially for fine fitting. You can make a cut and if necessary, off-set the cut by .002" and cut again. That also makes it very nice to do roughing cuts and then take off a .01" final pass. It doesn't require code, so designing on free graphic software works just fine. I have just a little over $3,000 in mine with the Workstation. Very impressed so far.

I forgot to add, our 5 year old grandson will be the biggest benefactor of my "play toy". And for his happiness, $3,000 is cheap money.

Rich,
That is fantastic, thanks for the info, I think the price is not bad at all, The festool domino is $2000 so that machine looks like a steal of a deal.
Have fun with it and with the grandson.
