Website help needed10/10
I need to create a new website, the one I have was created nearly 10 years ago by a friend and I have had no luck getting help updating or changing it .
I would like recommendations or examples from anyone who has used something like this.
All have very easy to use templates.
Best of luck
Create a free smugmug account and write in descriptions of the photos.
Cost zero and very easy.
I hired a designer and worked with her on a Squarespace template ("five") for my website. Like you, I was not born with a computer in my crib and would have found it difficult to pull it together by myself. I did a lot of the work with the text and images and thereby became familiar with the editing tools. At this point I can update the pages and post blog entries to keep the site fresh, and the designer is available for more advanced work that requires coding. She recommended Squarespace for my situation after having designed a number of sites with Wordpress.
My initial goal was to get my portfolio available for viewing by potential clients and designers. The bigger challenge is to get them to look at it, and I will defer to more experienced people on that issue. I can say that Squarespace makes it reasonably easy for someone like me to maintain the site. One potential drawback if you want to have an online store is that it is not oriented to incorporating Paypal (they use a competitor, Stripe, for processing payments). Good luck with your venture.
I just re designed mine, and switched hosts. I'm now using wix, and it couldn't have been easier. Mine is simple, four pages with gallery of work on one. Easy to upload new pictures whenever I want. Cheaper than my old host as well.
Mr. Jenness, the abalone inlays are on your site are beautiful.
Thanks for the responses, that Wix looks like something I can handle,I'm going to try that .
