Hi pot testing6/29
Have you provided Hi Pot testing for your cabinets that contain electrical? How have you complied? Do you have underwriters lab certification?
I can verify that pot will make you hi.
Isn't this a UL thing?
I've never ever heard of a cabinet company providing an U/L certification in my life, they cost about $50k. Simply use UL approved 3rd party components or sub it out to an electrical contractor and let them worry about it.
Dont touch this unless you are certified to do so.
UL is a worm hole you dont want to go down. It cost a lot of money that may or may not keep you from getting sued.
Having a electrical company "test" it isnt gonna protect you from getting sued if something goes wrong.
The thing people do not realize is the different verifications that UL has.
Certified and approved mean totally different things. One, both, either, or niether may or may not protect you from getting sued.
I worked with a major(300 mil) manufacturer, and spoke at length with the company lawyer about this. He basically said it didnt matter what UL said, we are getting sued.
We turned the job down. In the past we did work for other fixture manufacturers that had their own UL cert. There is no way of avoiding being sued....
