Soft close undermount drawer guides

Now that soft close under mount drawer guides have been out for a while, I was wondering how much maintenance or call back any of you have had. I have used them occasionally but have always been concerned about the piston and spring wearing out over time. I use Salice 3/4 extension epoxy coated drawer guides and cannot remember replacing any of them.

So you're trying to compare a $2/pair slide to undermounts?
Used then for quite a while now. Zero call backs.

I am not trying to compare them. My question is have any of you had any problems with the soft close under mount as related to the piston or spring wearing out or anything else like the catch. I have used the Salice under mount and like them very much. Just wondering about long term use.

Hello Bob,
I've been selling Blum and Salice Soft Close slides for years and cannot recall a single instance of having to warranty or exchange these for quality issues. Hope this helps you in your endeavors.

I get the occasional problem or glitch with the salices. Never any problem with the blums. The price I get on the salices makes up for any occasional problem

Blum tests their stuff in a lab for a million or some very high number of cycles. They don't make junk. The other big names test their products as well.
I've never had a bad Blum slide.
Asian no name brand slide of any design is prone to not working ever.

14 years with hettich. 10 years Blum. Occasionally grass dynapro, never tried salice. No call backs ever

The biggest problem I experience with the salices is the way they are packaged and handled. the boxes seem a little thinner than blums, and almost every box I get looks like it was kicked across the warehouse floor before put on the truck. also the clip releases are a little less precise than the blums. but Im getting them for 3-4 dollars less per pair and they pretty much work the same as the blums.

Thanks everyone for the feed back. This is what is so great about this site. We can always find out info from each other. I will feel more at ease when I have customers requesting this type of drawer guide.
Hope everyone has a GREAT Labor Day holiday.

I think I started using Blum under mount in 06'. Zero call backs, the only issue I've had happened recently where I got a set of 569's for a trash roll out that was damaged from shipping/handling. I opened the box and the plastic piece at the front edge was broken. Other than that, nothing.

I used epoxy slides for years and periodically replaced quite a few. I switched to ball bearing about five years ago, and replaced a couple pair. I now use mainly Salice undermounts and never had a problem. I also like the kv muv slides mainly because they have a much better size selection. I've also used a cheaper import called DS pro that I got from Baer and they worked well too.
I agree with Jonathan on Salice's packaging.

Since we're a little on the packaging, I will speak for Grass's packaging the only undermounts I've used.....seems like they are packaged to withstand a bomb. Very heavy cardboard construction both the outer package and inner packaging...I've never had even close to an issue with damage.
