confirmat screw tooling
2/12/17
We assemble our casework with 7x50 confirmat screws using a line/construction boring machine. The confimat bit tooling we been using does the bore and countersink for a confirmat screw. I have no idea why this is but the bits we've been using are made by Leitz & they no longer make left handed tooling...only right. Does anyone have source for a left handed confirmat bit? I've looked high and low for a supplier with no luck.
Any info would be appreciated.

Do you need to countersink them? I just use normal bits to drill my panels and use the confirmats with the nibs under the head so they sink flush.
good luck,

We use a prefinished maple panel with a crossband of mdf so the countersink has always been nice to ensure the head of the screw sinks flush or even a bit below before potentially stripping out. If we can't find the tooling we'll take your advice and try it without.
Thanks Jeff.

Put a LH countersink on a normal 7mm LH bit.

We have ours made at http://www.riversidetool.com/. We only order the RH version but they said that making LH drills would be no problem. I spent months trying to find tooling, if you have a different source please let us know.

Thanks C-Tay! I'll contact them and see what they say. Appreciate it.
