woodwop users please step inside

I have been using woodwop demo and I have a question, when drilling line bore holes I can get the first set in with no problem, the second set where Y is concerend if I wanted them placed 32 mm off the top of the panel ? whats the formula ?

the busellato use to do it in parametrics with h-32 is there a place I could find some of the different cordinates ? I have tried serveral different one's but so far the only way I have been able to place them is by using 568mm on a 600 mm panel.

thinking of getting another cnc and wanted to get a head start on the software.

If you are trying to do two parallel lines of line holes on the x axis and lets say the first line’s y positioning is 10 mm from the x edge, then you can establish a “b=32+10” variable and enter y=b to have the second line holes positioned +32 mm from the first one….

If “off the top of the panel” meant outside the panel did you try defining your y as y = - 32 (negative 32)?
Of course that implies that your drills can go on a negative territory.

I guess I should be more clear, 2 sets of parallel line bore holes 32 mm in from both sides of the panel. in y

the first one is x = 32 y=32 number 18 matrix 32 simple , second set would be x= 32 y is where I'm having trouble. in my mind it should be the width of y -32 ??

LPX length in the panel So LPX -32 is the length -32mm. So if your panel varies it will always hit the panel at itts length minus 32 mm

I tried that in about 3 differnt ways and itstill didn't work. it shouldn't be this difficult. scratching my head

It's _BSX, _BSY and _BSZ not LPX
_BSX, Y and Z are the stock sizes.

Well at least on our machine and version of WoodWOP.

Thank's everyone, any chance anyone has an extra woodwop manual laying around?? would like to learn the program before I get the router.

Ray if you're not used to the variable set up just use this: panel width-32 by that I mean if you have the panel size in the process part area your Y formula would be panel width minus 32. If you're using the variables you can add in: I=25.4 (this is a metric to inch converter after using this you can enter all your sizes in inches and add(*I) after them, WOODWOP thinks in metric) L=panel length *I, W= panel width*I and T=panel thickness then add the L,W&T in the process part area. From there the formula for the second set of holes is W-32
If you're looking at a WEEKE I highly recommend the training they do a good job and you learn a lot Chris

If you only have the demo version I assume you don't have the complete help files then. The help files aren't too bad ... and I refer to them from time to time. It would be too much to zip and post here though ... not to mention not sure if we are suppose to sure them too.

here is a picture of what I'm trying to do, the first set of holes at the bottom are fine the second set were done like Chris suggested as you can see no holes appear, very strange

If you want the holes the same off of the back as they are on the front copy the row of holes that you put in the front and change the coordinate location to 3. This will give you the same reference but off of the back corner. This is at the bottom of screen where you have the little arrows. One goes up and one goes to the right and you have 00 next to it. This is where you tell the macro which corner of the panel you are referencing off of. This is one of the slick features of woodwop.

I understand now...Change the W in the Y start to B (from your variable list) and that should do it. A picture is worth a thousand words...rough translation is L=length B=width D=thickness, so you are trying to tell it, move from 0,0 the width(B) then come back 32mm. What I was giving you wont work (see the red lightning bolt) because you are telling it to look up the meaning of W instead of B in the variables list and the program cant find it. Everything else looks fine Chris
