Xilog3, how to create a mix using pgm programs help needed10/27
Can never seem to be able to do this in xilog3, I want to create I believe a mix which contains 2 pgm program files so i can machine one side of a board then flip it over and machine the other without having to bring each pgm program up one after another.
Any help will be appreciated
In Xilog, File > New, and select mix programs for the type. Then select Tools Menu then List of programs.
Thanks but is that for xilog plus? as the file tab option is not available on xilog3
I think you need to have a 0 in the c field of the programs if you put in a 1 the programs run one after each other. The following is explanation of all fields from Help file.
1.13 MIX EDITOR
The functions provided by this environment closely resemble the functions in PGM TEXT EDITOR; The functions available here are:
. [F2] Saves the program on disk;
. [Ctrl]+[F2] Save with name;
. [Shift]+[F2] Confirms the instruction;
. [F3] Selects a MIX step from the PGM LIST;
. [Shift]+[F3] enables/disables BLOCKS functions;
. [F4] INSTRUCTION LIST (only in Enter mode);
. [Shift]+[F4] MIX LIST;
. [F5] deletes current instruction;
. [Shift]+[F5] selects / deselects the GUIDED EDITOR;
. [F6] selects/deselects new instruction enter mode;
. [F7] PGM EDITOR;
. [Shift]+[F7] opens the parameter table for the currently selected PGM.
Multiple selection of mix steps from the PROGRAMS ARCHIVE (key [F3]) is enabled.
The format of a mix step instruction is:
/ program name;
DX size X of panel;
DY size Y of panel;
DZ size Z of panel;
- work area on which the program is to be executed. The permitted values are A, B, C, D, AB, BA, CD, DC, AD, DA;
/ name of tool-up configuration file;
C machining type. The permitted values are 0 for normal machining and 1 for uninterrupted machining.
T enables/disables (1/0) raise bars (if present).
R number of identical panels to produce (max. 9999).
* unit of measurement. Permitted values are MM (millimetres) and IN (inches). If this field is omitted, the default unit is that specified in the machine parameters.
# name of environment variables file
BX size X of any additional shim or block located under the panel
BY size Y of any additional shim or block located under the panel
BZ size Z of any additional shim or block located under the panel
V activates / deactivates the clamping of the piece and the position control of the automatic suction cups, if present, according to the table below:
Field V Blocking Automatic Suction Cups Control
Thanks for the response, thats a good bit of info there but i cant physically create a new mix file, i dont know how to do it. for example when creating a new .pgm program you have to open another .pm program delete all the lines and then write the program.
I dont know if i have to do anything in the two .pgm files i want to run one after another or do i create some other file and put the pgm programs in like adding a sub program into a pgm program
When you first open Zilog there is a button above the file open button (F7). this button will open a mix file and or let you create one.
Yeah like pressing shift and F7, i can open that but then there is no .mix file to open or anything to click to start a new .mix file
When i write a program for .pgm i click F7 then i open an existing pgm file and save it as a new name then edit it with new set of instructions.
Just type in name for new mix. then you can add multiple programs to mix. When you run the mix it will run the programs in the order of the mix. If you put a 1 in the C field the programs will run one after the other without any operator input. If you put a 0 I believe the machine will stop and wait for the start button to be pushed again. Been a long time since a wrote a mix if still having issues give me a call.
