How often should collets be changed?
We stopped worrying about it once we bought a torque wrench and a ball bearing tool holder vise.
If we break a bit repeatedly i will trash one.
All of our tools have been disked for material chipload and that has stopped a lot of problems, including the preverbial replacement of the collet obsession
I did however just throughout an er-32 colllet do ti the wobble of the bit and the clamp marks on the bit being skewed. Once removed.
Torque wrench for sure. Keep the collets ckean, Keep the tool holders clean. If a tool turns or spins in the collet scrap both. Collet life depends on the tool not moveing.
