Milesi / water borne products7/19
Was just reading the tread on 2K polys and reminded me of a question I've had for some time. Wondering if anyone has any experience with Milesi Waterborne finishes? I've been using Chemcraft CV and 2K Poly with good results but have been wanting to switch to a water-based if I can find something that gives me a comparable finish. I've tried other products but have never been happy with the results. Saw a few recommendations for the Milesi poly and wanted to see if anyone has experience with the WB. Any other recommendations for a good WB product?
EVO from Gemini, nice stuff.
Milesi is marketing heavily right now and is the sister company to ILVA . I use ILVA and ICA products every day and they are both outstanding.
Our personal preference is ICA but ILVA is easier to get and quite a bit less expensive. I would assume Milesi to be priced the same as ILVA.
Find out who your best closest supplier is.
Thanks! I ordered up 5 liters from my supplier over the weekend and am going to do some tests. Fingers crossed!
Chemcraft makes really durable WBs. Their primer is better than the milesi primer by a landslide IMO, and I have tried both side by side in the last two months. As far as the 2K topcoats I dont know whos is better because I only use their single component because I dont have a rig set up for 2K
also the milesi is about 20-30 dollars more per gallon out here in Ca,
I would have to agree with John. The chemcraft primer is pretty good! But since Iíve been playing with the renner stuff I see a big difference overall! Especially with tanin blocking and coverage
