solid surface join problem3/30
Hi, I just stared working solid surface and I am having problems with joins. The material I am working with is the white by Samsung, and while using the same cartridge of adhesive it turns dark in some joins and seamless in others. I need a recommendation to save these sheets.
Perhaps the manufacture has a tech line? Call your distributor and tell them that you are having a problem. They should be able to advise you. Especially if you got bad glue.
I am assuming you have received training or taken a certification class. If not you should do so before you fabricate any more tops.
joints likely dirty, surfaces should be cleaned first with denatured alcohol (rubbing alcohol)
Go online and find their fabricators manual.
I would also recommend a sheet of white melamine to work off of and keep it clean. If you use a sharpie to mark joints it has to be cleaned off and so does pencil, all of it bleeds.
If you cant find their manual try Wilsonart, Corian or Formica.
