HPL on an edgebander8/30
I have a Biesse Stream.
A client of ours requires HPL strips as edge banding.
We've been able to sort out the top/bottom trimming but can't seem to get the end trimming clean, they are chipped.
PVC works fine, so I assume the blades are OK, but I can't imagine what else it could be.
Any ideas or advice welcome.
Are you running an hi-atb blades? And what is your tooth count?
Seems to be atp blades.
Don't know how old, I bought the machine used.
I think that a negative rake tooth would be more ideal for hpl as its cutting against the face as the spindle drops. Maybe give one of the higher end blade manufacturers a call a they should be able to answer some blade application questions. Then I would buy an extra set and have your others sharpened.
Sharpen blades. Higher tooth count would help.
Or the trim blades could be installed so the cutting is done with the front of the tooth, not the back.........
Umm, are you saying the blades were on backwards ?
