NIR Holz-Her Edgebander5/23
We seem to be having some issues with our edgebander when using NIR for high gloss edging.
The adhesion is fine however the thin protective film on the edging is getting caught on the profile cutter guide face
We have tried different feed rates and Kw settings and are out of ideas.
There are anti-static solvent based lubricants we can purchase and have required equipment installed in the machine however I haven't found much information on how well they work.
The machine is a Holz-Her Lumina 1584
your shoes are making contact with panel edge and "rubbing" the coating off; that is for certain. this is normal because the shoe has to trace the panel's edge. the only solution i can think of is to reduce the horizontal pressure to a minimum. however, doing so may affect the characteristics of the tooling and not produce the radius you wish to achieve without dialing in the motor slightly or moving the shoe back further. when you are finished running this product i would suggest returning these settings back to their original positions. just remember there will always have to have contact between the shoe and the panel's edge.
