Have you used Schedule 80 PVC for compressed air lines? Any problems?

I've been told not to use PVC,
when it shatters it's very dangerous.

Never.
Use 3/4" pex. Its cheap and will easily handle the 120psi pressure. You've go all of the fittings to switch to tapered pipe thread as well.
People think pvc is cheap. In reality its not. Its also dangerous.

I would not use pvc again. I've seen it grenade when accidentally struck under pressure.
I used pex in my new shop. It's very easy to work with and alter later as well as affordable. I've been in this shopabout seven years with zero problems from the pex.

PEX and sharkbite connectors have worked perfectly for me also. No leaks whatsoever, easy to retrofit new connections, and far cheaper than copper.

If you have an OSHA inspection you will get cited for PVC!
The only draw back to PEX is that it can deteriorate over time if exposed to some synthetic oils used in screw compressors.

Passes all inspections and faster and cheaper then copper.
Very similar to PEX but has an aluminum sleeve in the middle.

I had pex in my old shop. Meh. Cheap is all it had going for it.
I put aluminum pipe in the new shop. I'd do that again.
