PVC Edge Tape thickness for Corner Rounding function

I am planning to buy an Automatic Edge Banding Machine with Corner Rounding unit. I usually only use 1mm thick pvc edge tape. Now, I want to ask: what is the thickness range of edge tape that is applicable for the corner rounding function of an edgebander?

Usually up to 3mm, but you need to match the blades to the edgebanding you are running. We only run 1mm and have 1mm top/bottom/corner rounding trimmers. Same with scrapers.

Thanks Harold! I am going to buy an automatic edge banding machine with 8 functions in China. I saw a video of the Laguna Bandit 5 edgebander in youtube and it is very similar to the edgebander that I will buy in China. The reason I went here to ask about the corner rounder is because the guy in the video said that corner rounding is "only" used for 3mm tape.

I saw your post about the altenderf knock off sliding table saw that you bought from china. How was it faring now?

By the way, I will buy the sliding table saw, edgebander, dowel boring machine and dust collector from the same company in china. I think they have good products and after- sales service as evidence by customer testimonials and they can communicate fairly well.

I bought the Chinese saw from a distributer in Miami. When I needed some parts , I couldn’t get them. He then switched to another supplier in China. Found some generics I could use, but would not do this again. Edgebander is way more complicated and I wouldn’t do it if I were you, just bought a brandt in perfect condition from stiles showroom and it needed some parts and got them in days. Corner rounder with 1mm radius gives us a door that needs no filing. My doors come off the Bander perfect and even have scraper set to desk with peel coat and never have to touch the edge.

I live in South East Asia and there are only about 2 stores that sells these kind of machineries in my country (German made machineries). They are too expensive, almost 5x more expensive than what I can buy in china. I think It will take me a couple of years to be able to afford those german made machineries. I have to try my luck.

I saw your website and all the projects you have made in houzz.com. Your products are beautiful and I am more inspired now to work harder!

Glad I inspired you! You should have mentioned you were in Asia at the beggining. In that case, go for it! But it’s best to have a good tech person available for the Bander😁
