Microvellum pathway issue

When trying to open a room in Microvellum, I get the following error message:

"The path S:/SQL Database/All_Libraries_Date_Set_11_29_11/Factory Database/Drawing Templates does not exist"

I"m sure it's some simple setting I have wrong. Can anyone help me with this?

I might be able to help. It may not have anything to do w/ Microvellum but could be that your mapped drive is disconnected.

Questions...

Is "S:/" on your computer or somewhere else?

Have you checked to see if you can browse to "S:/" using your computers File Explorer? *** Do this first ***

Did you check to see if your Microvellum database settings changed in any way?

"S:/" is our "share drive" where we store all of the files that everyone works on. Something like a mini server I'm told. After posting this, I got a hold of a guy who used to work for us programming MV. He was trying to walk me through some things on the phone and I made some changes and screwed things up even worse. At that point, I couldn't even open MV or open any of our AutoCad drawings. It was clearly a pathway issue where the computer is looking for files that don't exist because they are not where the computer has been told to look for them. The work-around solution was to locate the files the computer was looking for, copy them, and put them in the place where the computer thinks that they are.

This worked and I can now at least open the cad files, but I still can't do any MV work within the drawings. But that's OK because we don't really use MV much anymore; we just use it to open AutoCad. MV never worked very well for us. It was too cumbersome to modify the stock products as much as we needed to, and there were bugs in the 2-D drawings that would make the submittal drawings almost useless. The last straw was that they wanted us to sign up for what I thought was a very expensive service contract when the software never worked the way it was supposed to in the first place. Fatal error after fatal error. They always assured me that it was not because of anything I was doing wrong, but something that was sure to be fixed in the next update. I finally had to give up.

Anyhow, our former employee is going to stop by after work today to straighten things out for us in exchange for cash and bourbon.
