Thermwood tool change problem2/4
Stops when doing a tool change just as it's about to let go of the tool. There is an error on the screen about a drawbar switch not operating properly.
A good solid whack on the top right of the control on the side that the main power switch is on gets things going again.
7 position changer at the back of the machine.
so you are hitting where exactly? I'm sure there is just a micro switch that is used to tell when the tool change is done. Its either dirty, or worn out. I would dry to find the micro switches and blow them out with air, or check for a loose connection.
Right on the Danger decal on the control box.
Apparently it's been happening for a few years.
The drawbar sensor should be on the spindle.
They have always been helpfull when I have called.
We had the same problem. Thermwood walked us through the process of adjusting the drawbar sensor. If it is not the sensor it could be worn or dirty tool holder. I would call Themwood and they will help you sort out which it is. You don't want to fool with the sensor if the problem is the toolholder.
How long has it been since you cleaned the tool holders or checked the draw bar? Lubed it ? Ran a wiper in there ?
Open the control cabinet with the machine power off and check the tightness of all screws on contractors. especially in the area you hit. DO NOT blow air in there no matter how dirty it is. Beat on contractor into submission one time- worked great for three years until I salvaged the machine
