Big Tup,
You and your company invested in technology and equipment be more efficient, and hopefully more profitable. Why give that away? I'm all for costing, and making sure we are making money, but at the end of the day the best profits are made by charging what the market will bear, not following some ambivalent guideline on how much profit a shop "should" make. If you have a productive, efficient machine (yours sounds like it fits this bill) then I don't think $225/ hour is really out of the question.
There will always be someone out there willing to do it for less. Impress with service and quality. Just the other day I was contacted by a shop that regularly outsources their CNC and banding work. They informed me that they are used to paying $15 per sheet for CNC work, and $20 if CNC and banding is required. I informed them they should continue using whoever was willing to get paid that, and continue doing business. That would barely cover my time to ensure their programs don't harm my machine or tooling. (If they are even programmed in a language my machine can understand), let alone the tooling, electrical, overhead, and personnel to carry out their project.
I would suggest working on a basis of time, not money for this. That way later down the road you can review the time and make sure you're meeting/exceeding this goal.
