CNC SCM Pratix 22 Reference5/31
I've recently purchased the SCM Pratix 22 and am new to the CNC. I've run into my first problem and was wondering if anybody could help me.
When I startup my machine and reference it, it won't reference the X axis nor will it even let me jog along the X axis. However it does reference the Y,Z & U axis.
If anybody knows what's happening or how to troubleshoot this please help.
I'm a bit new at CNC but in case this is what you're asking, I'll throw it out there. My point of reference is on an SCM Pratix N15. Every time I start it up it has to be calibrated. If your setup looks anything like mine, your machine panel will have 4 tabs across the top. Automatic F2, Manual F4, Calibration F5, and MDI F6. Click on Calibration or press F5. It'll tell you to press the Start Button which should be on your handheld controller. On mine it is a white button with a black square with clockwise arrows along the sides of the square. press it and let it go until it says something like Sizing Accomplished. It is calibrating each axis since they can move slightly while the machine is off.
I hope this helps and good luck.
So... We found the solution. My CNC has an off load/cleaning rake and after work when we turn off the compressor the rake drops eventually. When it's dropped to its lowest point it messes up the sensor for the X-axis.
So all I have to do is lift the rake when I turn it on in the morning.
