Cost-effective CNC melamine drawer boxes?2/17
I posted the same thing at the cabinetmaking forum but am cross-posting here for maybe better replies.
We've been building cabinet installation on-site from KD packages of CNC-cut parts, but using premade assembled-and-finished drawerboxes in various solid wood species, done with dovetailed corners.
We're considering going to CNC-cut d'boxes, buying KD as part of the cab packages, the boxes of 5/8 melamine, with all four sides edgebanded top only, blind dado corner joints, as shown here.
Fronts and backs need to be flipped for completion of CNC.
How cost-effective might this be versus the relatively high cost dovetailed boxes?
our client use this direct from polyboard
KATZ → What material (brand) is this ?!
Robert # yes its multi-ply w/laminate made from china,i dont know the producer ,here (israel) all kitchen boxes build from this material, never use chip board inside kitchen
Isn't the World web wonderful.....after all these yrs, I'm still surprised what it bring all of us !
what holds them together ? just the blind dado and glue?
