Random rounding of corners.4/30
Have an Omnitech router with oi fanuac controller. Fanuac servers. Using cv 9 for cad. Machine is 10 years old. We are starting to get parts that are randomly radiusing the four corners on parts. Not one particular part. Today we ran a program that was repeated over and over again for quantities. Some of the parts had the radius corners.
Just checking to see if someone has had similar problem.
In order to start to figure out the problem, You should find that program and post the code. Myself and about a thousand people out here know Fanuc G-gode. We can let you know if the code is causing the radii or if you need to look at the machine or if the CV settings for corners have changed. Can you tell if the radii are nice and consistent, or just sloppy looking possibly caused by backlash in the machine?
inside your machine tab,,locate "roll around corners" please reference photo,,,toggle this setting and should solve your issue..

Looks like a mechanical issue rather than a software issue to me.
Yes. That's not looking like a radius corner, just a bad corner. Code shows straight corners, not roll around and look ahead is on. I would get a tech in to check the ball screws and or rack depending on the machine if you don't have maintenance in house.

Are the roll around corners all in the same corner........that is in relation to one corner or another of the machine? Or are they random in location around the parts as well?
It does sound like a backlash issue to me as well.
I would agree that this looks like a mechanical issue. If you have belts that drive your long axis check them.
The random rounding is on all four corners. Rack and pinion with fanuac servors. I plan on having a technician come in and go over the machine.
Most rack and pinion machines you can power down and move the gantry by hand, may take some force. You'll know if one side is sticking for whatever reason. I've had issues where the bearing trucks gum up and don't move freely on the rails so essentially one side is always dragging behind and then finally jumps when it catches up.

If you purchased that machine new, you'll have free lifetime phone support provided by Anderson America on Omnitech Routers which have FANUC controllers. If you purchased it used, we have some alternatives for you to get expert help inexpensively.
Just from the picture, I would recommend that you verify that the part isn't moving on the table during that corner. If it was backlash or mechanical, it would usually (but not always) have the same "rounded" results on at least 2 corners, and often 4 corners.
Also, those older omnitechs had straight toothed rack and pinions that at this age would likely be worn or need replaced. It's not very expensive to do, but that is another likely culprit.
