Oneida Filter Filling with shavings4/21
I have an Oneida V-systems 5hp cyclone dust collector.
Last week the filter cartridge filled with shavings, but the canister was not full. I found a rag that had gotten sucked in, so I suspected that somehow caused the problem.
Now the same thing has happened again (except without the rag). I've had the system about a year and a half without problem.
The only thing that may be different is that I've been cutting some maple raised panels on the shaper which I don't usually do, so the shaving load is unusually high. Could it be that it can't take that many shavings at once? Is there anyway to avoid it beside lighter cuts / less shavings?Or what else could cause this?
In my system, if I have leaks downstream, shavings don't drop out and they pass on to the filters.
I have collection pipe, then cyclone, then fan, then filter. The shavings drop out of the cyclone into a storage 'room', and the fines go on thru the fan and then to the fabric filters. If the door to the shavings storage room leaks, or is not closed all the way, shavings will not drop out and they travel on to the filter bags, clogging them.
