Finish Room Treats6/30
Gun clean up
This is awesome. I have been finding little treats hidden back in the finish room. Guns that had pre or post cat products left in them overnight etc. They just hid them.
Is there any products out there to at least clean the outsides of the guns. The insides are gone. What is good stuff to eat through a cured cat finish???
invest in a ultrasonic cleaner, fill it half full with acra strip half water, you can find it on line and your troubles are over........
I second the poly chem acrastrip and a crest ultrasonics tub..... I use the acrastrip full strength in the ultrasonic unit.... with the heat turned up..... one hour in the soak will loosen up all the cruddy inards and they will scrub out real good after you take them out.... just don't leave them in there too long it will corrode aluminum if left too long and will eat up your chrome parts.... We also have a herkules gun cleaner tank setup we run 1/2 polychem 1/2 water for the bigger items and bypassed the timer so it runs all day pumping fluid... bigger items like 5 gal. agitator lids and cup guns go in there for a soak... you can even rig the gun trigger with the supplied clamps and run fluid through the guns to clean out the fluid passages.... clean guns are happy guns.... Airpower is who we get the acra strip from
Thank you men, clean guns are very happy guns. I have never heard of such a system. Look at 48, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Paste wood stripper is the best thing for dried on paint on the outside. The ultrasonic works great for the insides.
