Corner oak tambour appliance garage2/27
Looking for a source for a well made unfinished oak corner appliance garage--full cabinet with plywood sides, NOT a kit with just a roll up door and two side panels.
Why not call a cabinet shop ?
just saying .
I normally make my own cabinets, but I am just too busy right now, and need something pretty quick. I may have to resort to having someone custom make it but right now I'm just looking for a big cabinet company that has one in stock that they can ship right away. Unfinished red oak would be great, but not many companies offer cabinets unfinished. I don't want the "kits" with the MDF sides. Any suggestions on companies I might be able to order from?

Well, after looking around for a ready-made quick appliance garage, I was pretty disgusted at what is being offered today. Even some of the high-end cabinet companies are using the cheap kits with a front and MDF sides ($99). They add a little strip of plywood to the top, and jack up the price to $300-$400. It takes 6 weeks to order these!
I took the old one into my shop, rebuilt it, refinished it, put on some trim, added some puck lights on the inside and put it into service for another 36 years.
Yes, I know that most modern kitchens don't have appliance garages, but, when people use these every single day, who cares? A lesson for people who do custom cabinets. People want what they want.
