Penn State Extension in partnership with the Keystone Kiln Drying Association will be offering an Advanced Lumber Drying workshop on March 11, 2015 in Clarion County, PA. The conference is scheduled to held 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM at Structural Modulars Inc. located at 101 Southern Avenue, Strattanville, PA 16258. The cost to attend is $65 and lunch will be included in the fee.
Speakers include Dennis Clay, The Kiln Consultant, who will give an in-depth presentation regarding using the Alternate Heat/Dump Cycle (AHDC) technique to dry lumber. There will also be a representative from a company currently using this technique to offer their perspective on using AHDC in their operation.
L&E Stover Enterprises will also be on hand to provide information about data that they have collected inside of commercial kilns that will help participants understand exactly what is happening in their kilns in regards to air flow, dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures, relative humidity, etc. The information that they have collected go hand in hand with AHDC.
