Has anyone experience with this brand. We're getting ready to buy an upcut saw and this seems like a good possibility.
I've had a used Cantek sliding panel saw for a couple years now, and it's been great! The more I used it, the more I appreciated how well it was designed/built.
I also have digital and motorized fences, height, etc, and no issues with the electronics, aside from the occasional good cleaning/greasing.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy their equipment, in hindsight even new prices are a steal.
I set up a new shop in late 2010, early 2011. I am a 6000 sq foot custom shop, mainly wood solids & veneers doing a mix of cabinetry, furniture (residential) and millwork (also residential).
I have been using several Cantek machines, purchased new when we set up - and have nothing but good things to say. I have a wide belt sander, 20" HD planer, 16" jointer, tilting arbour spindle shaper, and a dovetail machine - as well as their MX340 edgebander (bought a year and a half ago when they came out).
So far, so good. Machines get used daily, nothing yet worn or needing attention other than regular scheduled cleaning/maintenance.
Service here in Canada is from Akhurst Machinery - very good. I believe they own Cantek America and I would assume similar quality of service.
Worth a look in my book. I'd definitely purchase more in the future if and when I needed to.
