What is this veneer??1/4
Hi all hope ur doing great
We do not say "colored" any more, sir.
The photos are from too far away to make an accurate guess but I would suggest that you go to Certainly Wood's website and spend an hour or so poking around. My guess is (if the job is rich enough to afford custom veneer work) fumed something or other. Fumed veneers have a variety of rich browns and caramels within the grain
Thank u all
I need to use wood with large wood grain
The sugggested frake but i have very bad past with this wood
Thank u for ur time
Wenge, reconstituted. There is a light stripe and a dark stripe that the cabinetmaker unfortunately ignored.
Does anyone else think the work in the photo is good, bad, or mediocre?
I think it might get rejected. Maybe it should be rejected. At least a mighty kick to get the light and dark blended better with the finish.
Upon seeing the first front, sanded, ready to finish, I would've rejected and we would start looking at relaying up the veneers. If laid up by a vendor, they would be happily returned for rework.
I suspect the light and dark stripe is a design element and was not expected to be blended. Never seen wenge with a stripe like that. Would it have been nice to have all the stripes line up? sure. expected? probably. But in the end does it all matter what anyone thinks besides the person writing the check?
It's a broken bookmatch, four of the panels are upside down.
