Shaper cutters and sleds1/30
Whats the market, see below?
We just purchased several machines from a high end shop included 3 PM27 1 1/4" shapers.
We ended up with 21 cutters (brazed) and a couple of insert Freeborn cutters, 1 Ritter pneumatic coping sled and one 24" panel jig with a box of patterns. We don't do a lot of cabinets and really don't need these items. Is there still a market for them and what is the rule for pricing.
Hobbyists will gobble up the powermatic garbage for a premium
Brazed tooling isn't worth much used. You can dang near buy them at scrap value on auctions.
I sold a few oddball sets of insert heads on CL, I don't remember for sure, but I want to say I got around $100/head for them
I figured as much but just don' use cutters like that much at all. You know anything about the pneumatic coping sled or pneumatic panel jig sled. Both retail for crazy money in my opinion. The coping is about $900 new and the panel sled is $1900 but in our area everyone seems to either out source doors or just make shaker so not sure we have a market for those pieces?
Start the auction at half price for the shapers and coping sled and panel jig. The hobbyists will drive them to 90-95% of the cost new.
