ABOUT US
We are a New York based millwork and general fabrication shop, handling projects from high-end retail and commercial to residential. We build highly custom free-standing and built-in pieces, working in wood and metal.
We are looking for a drafter/furniture designer/3D model maker/CNC enthusiast to expand our current drafting and modeling team and help streamline our production process. Work is in shop or remote. Pay is competitive based on experience.
You will be working from approved designs to take millwork and furniture from sketch to ready-to-assembly drawings and production techniques. Must have a good grasp of fabrication, material and know how to best utilize a CNC for parts assembly. Every project we do is different and you will be asked to do creative problem solving to make one of a kind pieces.
DUTIES
- Create detailed construction drawings and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- MUST KNOW RHINO 3D
- Collaborate with design team to understand project requirements and specifications
- Review and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications
- Prepare accurate and precise drawings for construction or manufacturing purposes
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulations
- Make necessary revisions and modifications to drawings as required
- Maintain organized documentation of all drawings and related files
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Drafter in a Millwork or Architecture firm or relevant education.
- Experience operating or designing for CNC FURNITURE PRODUCTION
- Proficiency in using RHINO software. Drawings will be done in BOTH RHINO and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of RHINO LAYOUT is a huge plus
- Knowledge of drafting techniques, standards, and symbols
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
