Director of Project & Program Management
Upper Midwest (Not Remote)
Salary: 140-150K+ bonus, excellent benefits and relocation assistance
The Director of Project & Program Management will be a dynamic leader with proven ability to inspire, develop and lead a team of project & program managers and other client service staff, while successfully managing client relationships and effectively collaborating with the leaders of other functional areas of the organization. They will maintain ownership of the processes, deployment of resources, scheduling, and cost & quality controls surrounding the coordination of the manufacture of our millwork and graphic product lines. The person in this role will be tasked with ensuring the profitability of jobs undertaken by the Company, through the monitoring of various production stages (planning, quoting, design, production, delivery, and installation) and through coordination/ communication with other managers. In addition to directing staff, this position acts as a liaison to other functional areas of the Company, working with other leaders to design or refine efficiency-promoting processes/standards. Finally, the Director of Project & Program Management will provide integral input into process improvement initiatives and other measures undertaken towards meeting the combined goals of improved client outcomes and optimizing the Companys profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to)
Direct staff in the timely fulfillment of customer orders throughout the entire project lifecycle by prioritizing their work and acting as an advocate with other, interrelated functional areas of the Company.
Monitor jobs throughout their lifecycle to ensure maximum profitability and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Act as a partner & trusted advisor to executive leadership assisting them in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing strategies and tactics towards achieving company goals.
Lead multiple complex projects that are aligned to Companys strategic plan for growth, efficiency, process improvement and customer satisfaction.
Hold staff accountable for meeting or exceeding financial and customer expectation objectives.
Support establishment of production targets and cost estimates and monitor for accuracy; enabling a continuous improvement cycle.
Own and continuously improve the program and project management processes followed cross-functionally by all Company team members; work with functional peers to ensure efficiency and compliance across the business.
Coordinate production, timing, and prioritization through planning with various stakeholders and work with these parties to implement new products and/or processes.
Effectively communicate issues, requests, or other pertinent items ensuring high levels of internal and external client satisfaction
Work with team members to generate solutions to business issues and then plan/implement those solutions based on documented risk assessment.
Hire, train, evaluate, discharge staff, and resolve personnel issues.
Prepare and maintain various production reports and personnel records and enter pertinent data into Company cost accounting systems as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of the millwork and graphics fields, specifically staying abreast of material innovations and pertinent technological advances.
Coach team members on best practices in program/project management, deploying standard methods and tools as needed.
Develop and maintain resource loading models to ensure adequate levels of resources to support all programs/projects coming through the sales pipeline.
Ensure that proper management practices are adhered to by providing ongoing performance and career discussions and on-time completion of relevant people processes.
Directly manage high profile programs, particularly during the preliminary stages with new clients to ensure proper set up and risk mitigation.

Extensive knowledge of millwork production materials & techniques, including the ability to read/interpret blueprint and CAD drawings.

Proficiency with computers and the MS Office Suite including Excel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of demonstrated successful project management experience.
3 years of supervisory experience or experience leading a Project Management team
Demonstrated successful experience working both autonomously and with others in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or related Master's degree
Business process consulting techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
PMP Certification
Experience defining departmental policies and SOPs.
Experience working with Tradesoft cost accounting software.
