We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Woodworking Estimator to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Estimator is responsible for analyzing architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for architectural woodwork projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of millwork processes, materials, and associated costs, along with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings and specifications to determine scope of work.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and services.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure alignment on scope and costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or design intent.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, and related documentation.
- Participate in project hand-offs and provide detailed estimate breakdowns to production teams.
- Assist with value engineering efforts and alternate bid proposals as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in architectural millwork or woodworking estimating.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, fabrication techniques, and finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Excel, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
