Description
KBWD is a design-build custom cabinetry shop, a leader in projects which require quality, precision, and design excellence in residential and commercial environments. We are in SE Dallas working primarily in the Park Cities. For work samples see www.Karlboonzaaijer.com.
As our operations expand, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Carpenter to oversee and contribute to daily production and on-site installations. This critical role bridges the gap between the office, shop, and clients through great communication, planning, scheduling, and training. This role will enable the owner to focus on Sales and Design.
Duties
• Own all site work whether done with in-house labor, subs, or combination
o Plan materials, labor, subs, schedule, logistics for each install or install segment.
o Work out efficient & effective storage and transport of materials
o Sufficient on-site time to do expectation management with Supers, Subs, and Shop
o Build relationships with Supers & Subs
o Ensure site work is done safely, with excellence, and to schedule. Ensure Site is always left clean
• Schedule installation and production work, update shop schedule & customer schedule expectations
o Update next weeks shop schedule by Thursday afternoon
o Update builders on "substantial completion date” by same
• Instruct/check on shop personnel for proper understanding and implementation of shop drawings. Propose management & training solutions to correct gaps in skills and understanding.
o Perform daily quality checks for conformity to plans
o Implement a “Lean” approach to waste, materials, and workflow
o Expert on machinery, hand tools, safety procedures, familiar with shop software systems.

Experience / Skills / Conditions
• At least 5y proven experience in high end custom cabinetry
• Planning and Scheduling
• Proficiency in using power, hand, and measuring tools
• CNC experience a plus
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish
• Able to teach and train
• Must reside in DFW area, pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record check.
