Bruce Matson Company is a family owned and operated cabinet manufacturer seeking a Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to help in our Kent, Washington facility. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as oversight of local deliveries. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. There will be times when driving and making deliveries is needed in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items received against packing lists or purchase orders, and scanned into MRP software.
-Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and report any discrepancies.
-Responsible for the storage and organization of materials and products.
-Assist in inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
-Delivery
-Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely pickup and delivery of products.
-Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials.
-Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and tracking of delivery vehicles.
-Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and coordinating shipments with MRP software.
-Operate all box trucks with lift gates.
-Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, adhering to safety guidelines and practices.
-Communicate effectively with internal departments and vendors.
-Ability to drive a 26 foot box truck
-Responsible for maintaining company vehicles to ensure safety and regulation guidelines.
-Load trucks and shipping containers and train drivers on proper securing of loads
-Coordinate drivers for pickup and deliveries of materials.
-Prepare packing lists for all outgoing deliveries and shipments.
-Oversee crew palletizing products for shipping and loading trucks/containers.
Experience required:
-Proven experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 40 pounds
-Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred)
-Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications and shipping software
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
-Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to driving, shipping and receiving activities
-Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
