Description
Architectural Woodworking shop seeks individuals with minimum 5 years experience in architectural woodwork assembly. We are beginning to implement Lean manufacturing principles and are looking for candidates who are either experienced with Lean practices or enthusiastic about learning and contributing to this continuous improvement journey. Job Responsibilities:
• Assemble all varieties and scope common to commercial architectural woodwork including, but not limited to, reception desks, conference tables and credenzas
• Confirm all work is complete and built per shop drawings
• Participate in our evolving continuous improvement initiatives
• Support workplace organization and efficiency improvements
• Contribute ideas for reducing waste and improving workflow
• Adapt to changing processes as we implement new operational practices
Required Skills:
• Must be able to work from stockbills and shop drawings
• Must be able and willing to work independently or as part of a team
• Familiar with set-up and operation of all woodworking machinery
• Must be able to instruct and lead lower level shop personnel
• Detail oriented with commitment to quality and efficiency
• Knowledge of all aspects and requirements of the AWI Standards
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles a plus, or strong willingness to learn and grow with our operational improvements
• Adaptable mindset and openness to process changes
• Interest in workplace efficiency and continuous improvement
