Position Summary
Produce accurate, timely quotes for custom wood flooring and stair treads and manage purchasing of raw materials and production supplies. Support sales team with technical and cost information, optimize inventory and material procurement, and help control production costs to protect margin.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for custom wood flooring and stair treads based on job drawings, specifications, samples, and client needs.
- Calculate required lumber yield, waste, and other production inputs.
- Work directly with salespeople to clarify scope, propose alternatives and respond to RFIs and quote revisions.
- Maintain and update standardized estimating templates, cost databases, yield factors, and pricing matrices.
- Source and purchase lumber and other production materials.
- Solicit, evaluate and negotiate supplier quotes; develop and maintain relationships with primary and backup suppliers.
- Monitor vendor lead times, capacity and quality; coordinate purchase orders to support production schedules and minimize inventory shortages.

Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in estimating, procurement or production planning in wood products, millwork, flooring, cabinetry, construction, or related manufacturing environment; wood flooring experience preferred.
- Ability to read job drawings.
- Strong understanding of lumber species, grades, milling/yield, and for flooring and stairs.
- Proficiency with estimating methods and math (board feet, yield %, trim/waste factors).
- Comfort with spreadsheets (Excel & Google Sheets) and quoting tools.
- Supplier management experience and ability to manage multiple purchase orders and lead times.
- Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; comfortable working directly with sales, production, suppliers and occasionally clients.
