Senior machinist cabinetmaker for Traditional Millwork Shop doing Historic replications:
Scope of work:
Independently lay out complex door and millwork components.
Grind, select or specify custom knives and cutters.
Set up traditional shapers and molders safely.
Machine curved, tapered or irregular components.
Produce cope-and-stick, mortise-and-tenon and haunched joints.
Match historic moldings from samples.
Develop fixtures for short production runs.
Diagnose machinery, tooling and tolerance problems.
Minimize waste in costly lumber and veneer.
Supervise junior operators.
Full-time position, with company est. 1950. Pleasant shop environment. Long-term projects, steady year round employment, substantial overtime available. Many of our employees have worked for us continuously for decades. 30-person shop working on Doors, Windows, Casegoods, Paneling and Furniture.
