Description
We are looking for a craftsman to join our millwork and woodworking business on a full-time basis. Hourly position Mon-Friday 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm.
We are a small design-and-build carpentry business located in Westchester, New York that primarily focuses on building custom cabinetry and bookcases for residential projects. This includes built-ins for dining rooms, libraries, bedrooms and home offices. No two projects are ever the same, and we work with a variety of different materials and finishes: plywood, solid wood, stain, paint, oil, etc. While our ideal candidate will have experience in this field, there are plenty of opportunities to learn more about different aspects of woodworking. All fabrication takes place in our shop in Tarrytown, NY, and we provide all tools needed. When working on on-site installations, you will assist our lead carpenter.
Our requirements:
-We are looking for a reliable employee who will work closely with our lead carpenter to assist with building, sanding, finishing, and on-site installations.
-Heavy lifting will be required
-Our ideal candidate will have some experience working on job sites and will be knowledgeable in basic construction such as making door/drawer faces, installing door/drawer hardware, edge-banding, etc
-Must be able to follow direction well
