This vanity was a commission. It’s walnut burl veneer, walnut, and holly inserts. The mirror swivels. The mirror support was made from thin strips glued around a form. The 2 drawers on the lower right are actually 1 drawer with a slot so they would look balanced on both sides. The burl figure is spectacular and really makes the piece. The finish is wipe on oil/poly blend. You can’t really use lacquer on a vanity because some cosmetics have alcohol bases and the alcohol will dissolve lacquer. See more at alancarterstudio.com.
