Carving and marquetry play a big role in our company. This piece of furniture took me seven months to make. I've been a furniture maker almost my whole life. When designing this piece I really wanted to add carvings to this piece of furniture without making it to busy. By adding eagle wings, the lions face and violin scrolls. With all these different ideas, along with marquetry of roses,it made this piece both a centerpiece and a end table in one. When you entered the room it's a center piece. Then when you went around the room it would be a end table. By using veneer I was able to mix up the veneers into a nice blend of colors for a natural look. I used a traditional method of marquetry. It took me around 1100 hours to complete.I would have to say that at this stage in my career, as a woodworker, this is the most enjoyable piece I've made so far. Our Web site www.zongkers.com

Very Beautiful work! I love the details in the wings and the marquetry of the roses. It takes me back in time when furniture was made to last forever. This is what I call, "Old World Craftsmanship"

Beautiful work... Was any of this done with machine?
It is amazing to see one person with carving and marquetry expertise and not to focus on just one area of woodworking. You are a master craftsman.

Thank you Arianna, Everything was done by hand. I have over 100 caving knifes. First I had to make a clay model, of a corner griffin. By using wire-end clay modeling tools. I don't know which one I like better between Marqutery & Carving. But I injoy booth of them very much.

Excellent craftsmanship! Just when I thought I have seen everything! Did you do all the work by yourself or did you have help?

WOW!! That table is beyond description. I'm a woodworker (hobbyist) too, couldn't even imagine where to begin. This piece is a gem that you could only find in a European palace.
