This was about a 4 month project for 2 guys from framing the hole to final assembly. Only the spindles and newel posts were purchased. All the rest was made on site from Solid cherry except the panels around the opening where we used cherry plywood. The design was modified from an old book, so the basic engieering was done for us. The post was 13 segments and filled with concrete after installation.
