King size curly cherry bed with 12 30" deep tiger maple drawers and black (albino)walnut shiplap platform.
The bed was commissioned by a couple as a gift to themselves celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They had most of the design on this bed and I simply did the woodwork. It is kind of nice to know that the customers will be getting what they really like.
The pictures don't show the platform. I will post more pics once the bed is put together in the room. I used bed rail fasteners to joint the rails to the boards. The rails have a flare at the end and makes the line to continue in to the footboard to the other side and back out again into the opposite side rail. I'm aware that the self close undermounts sliders don't distract as much as the side mounts hardware but this is what the customer wanted. The project took 125 hours and the finish is lacquer.

I did one similar and ran into a problem. I had to make floating shelf night stands.
Are the drawers at the headboard functional?

Mulligan, yes the drawers are all functional. The bed is not agaist the wall and that is why the headboard panel covers to the floor. I don't what the customer will do for night stands. Do you have pictures of the floating shelves you made?
