Got an interesting commission to make a chair for the local Anglican Church as in March they are made a cathedral and the Archbishop of York will come from the UK although I think our Govenor General of New Zealand will sit in it. never done much carving so I allowed myself a week and half to make this using NZ native Heart Rimu.

Nice work. I was wondering how you made the bases that go to the arms. 4 pcs of wood 8pcs? How did you join them to each other? Thanks Bob

Just a cross halve joint to join the legs. Cut away the stock with a forstner bit in the drill press and then trimmed to the line with a half inch router bit. Glued and screwed. Cheers.
