Very cool project. I really like the Wenge overflow valve. What does a project like this run?

Wow! So many questions, solid stock or veneers? What substrate if veneered What kind of finish/ resins did you use?
Posted By:Chris Hostetler
Wow, Outstanding! I cant imagine the type of finish that has to be put on something like that. Have you had an application like this before?

I just checked out your webpage and it looks great! Do you know who your web guy designed through? Is it a bludomain site? I'm researching getting mine up and running.

The tub itself is 5/8" t&g planking built around a framed skeleton, Just like building a boat. It is filled with pour foam insulation and is actually quite light and easy to carry and install. The finish on all of it is 4-5 coats marine epoxy resin, hand blocked between every coat and final coat is outdoor marine varnish. Vanity case is all custom sawn veneers except the top. Top is also t&g planking. This is about a 20k project to build.

Yes, bludomain. They are great templates and easy to use. With minimal computer skills you should be able to set up the site.

Simply amazing. I have seen Teak sinks done by William Garvey in the UK, but this goes far beyond. Did you have lots of experience with epoxy finishing before you started? Seems like that would have been very difficult.

Oh, my gracious - if I only had the skills, that's what I'd do. What a fine, inspiring thing to do!

Love it. What does it mean to 'hand block' epoxy? Amazing...

Kevin, Im getting my website up with bludomain right now. I love the wood background you used and I see that it is on some of Blu's other sites. Where did you get that wood background? Thanks so much! -Chris

Great works and beautiful.

It make me feel proud to be a carpenter.

Chris, the wood background was just one of the templates on Bludomain. I believe it was called the "Oscar" template and was in the $100 category. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else!
