Nice job matching the veneers on the drawers and case.
Im guessing its Nidacore or some other brand of composite honeycomb. Stuff works great.
Could have used plastic honeycomb or some of the phenolic honeycomb, both make a nice torsion box skinned with 1/8" or 1/4" mdf. Moderately expensive though. Can't see why you wouldn't use a partition in the drawer area.

There are partitions in the drawer area, to mount the guides to. Couldn't put any partitions up top or the doors wouldn't be able to pocket back and be inset like that. And yes, being an ex yacht builder, I love composite materials, especially core-cell, tri-cell and aluminum honeycomb.
