Oak Bookcase

Listing #308 Listed on: 03/18/2006 Name: Michael Alton

Company Name: Finally Home, LLCThis is an oak bookcase that I built for my sister-in-law and her husband. I personally don't like flat panel doors, but they match the other furniture in their home. The rest of the design and the column construction was mine.

Nice work!

Is that one ply. on the back wall

Posted By:Michael Alton

It's two pcs. on the back. I tried to hide a seam behind one of the columns as much as I could. Thanks for the compliment.

Great design. Simple yet elegant. Love the columns. Did they take long to turn?

Posted By:Michael Alton

I used a Legacy Mill to turn the columns. They took about two weeks to turn (just kidding). About one hour into them, the armature in the router went bad and I had to wait to get it back. Actual time was about two hours on each column.

Michael.
