Nice work and nice finish Leo. those tops look solid, if they are how do you allow for movement in the field with the cross grain "breadboard" ends?

The tops are solid. And, I don't. (I've been waiting for this comment) I have made a few of these for myself and as long as the dimensions stay below 22" I have had no problems with them. The piece I experimented with in my home has a 22" wide x 42" long top with biscuit breadboard ends. My house has no AC or humidity control so in the summer the temps reach 85-90ºF with the full brunt of the humidity. In the winter my low heat setting is about 60ºF with the full lack of humidity. They fared without a hitch. Just have to make sure that what you finish on the top is the same as what you do to the bottom. These tops are only 18W" x 24L" in an AC controlled home. I don't think I will have any problems. I've made them with true mortise and tenon breadboard ends and I have a lot of problems with the lacquers fracturing at the moving joint line. I hate that, and it looks bad. When I do an oil finish I do them with true M & T because the oil won't fracture. Anything bigger than 22" I will put a bevel line at the joint and do true M & T, but I don't like how that looks. Thanks for the comments.
